Revisiting my Collecting Goals -- the blog isn't dead!

                                            

 Hi Guys!

So... technically... I was going to delete my blog, but I'm keeping it for archival purposes... and figured I could maybe possibly... post 😂.  

Anyway!

It's September 1st, and I figured we could touch on my "Collecting Goals" from earlier this year, and see how I've done!

I have an "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it" personality, which... I think this post will reflect 😂

Here is a quick refresher of my collecting goals (that I made in March) for those of you who have forgotten!

Top of my priority list: The AG Gourmet Kitchen (the original aka the blue one. In my humble opinion, their gourmet kitchens get worse each time. The purple one is okay, the one for sale right now makes me loose faith in humanity. But the blue one?? With that counter space??? The photoshoots I could do oh my gosh.  Yes yes yes. 

And maybe… you’re saying to yourself: "Lady, do you even have a place to store said kitchen?" The answer is no. But! If opportunity presents itself, I will find a spot for it. 

#2 - My Dream Doll 

What is this dream doll you may be asking??? I don’t have a lot figured out yet. However! I do know I am going to name her Porsha (I have a thing where I come up with names I just love and then have to buy a doll so I can make that name a reality. For example. We have Magnolia, Indigo, Cielo (which I’m debating on giving her the nickname Yoyo or just buying another Asian doll and having her go by Yoyo), Constance, do I need to continue??? Half of my dolls I wouldn’t own if I wasn’t a writer and didn’t like looking at name lists. Anyway! Back to Porsha! 

The problem with Porsha. Is there is not an AG skin tone dark enough to fit my vision. So I need to contact someone to see if they would hand dye a doll for me. Which I have a couple people in mind (my mom says we should just do it ourselves, but the idea of completely dismantling, dying, and then rebuilding the doll after??? I am afraid of eye swaps, okay??? Like no ma’am). Other things I have figured out: she needs dreadlocks, obv, but I have this seriously strong desire to give her light light blue eyes. Bc black skin, crystal blue eyes??? Idk. I feel like it would work! Although I’m 99% I want her to have an Addy mold, but when I think blue eyes I kinda picture her with a Josefina mold… so idk but I promise! I will have this figured out! Not quite sure if I’m ready to invest a couple hundred in a custom doll or not… *especially if I'm not sold on the face mold* but she is on my list for sure. 

#3 : I really hope to be able to add #21 to my collection! Tbh I feel like if I had her, I really would be happy with where my collection is at! (I just need to pretend the Rapunzel and Belle dolls don’t exist… I think I’m falling back on Rapunzel to make up for my… it hurts to say this… disappointment with Moana.) Anyway! #21! With one of my repaints??? Y’all… I want to make that a reality for myself. 

#4 I don’t like the AG Beforever Julie doll (I have to specify because I have a doll that I named Julie…) but I really really want to recreate Jude. And I feel like AG Julie is a solid base to make Jude. I just… I feel like I need a Jude in my collection, you know? 

I mean, I got Caspian… idk how to really define him as a “type” bc his physical appearance and his personality are SO different, but based on appearance we will call him more my borderline juvie guy, I have Ty who is the athletic dude, AD with who is my architect/polo golfer but also surfer dude and everything in between (idk how he finds all the time for his hobbies—I really don’t), and Dylan Tate with his southern yet insanely shy vibe. 

I’m lacking a feminine dude. And I feel like my boy doll collection won’t really be complete until I have a pretty boy. So! #4! We need Jude. I got the jock, I got the gangster, and the nerd, and the cowboy. I like pretty boys, I need a pretty boy. 

#5. Speaking of AD and of eye swaps… I need to officially get AD’s eye replaced… I just… I don’t want to pay money to buy a set of brown eyes to just use one eye… and then… decide whether or not to try another eye swap or pay someone to do it.  But.  It is on my ever-growing list

Moving away from the dolls!! 

About half of my collection needs new wigs 😅 most prominently is Adam, Jordi (her wig is falling apart, like the wig cap is mostly ripped so there hair isn’t secured by anything 😅), I would love to get Caroline a new wig, Dalia has been wig less for… quite some time. And Kat needs a new wig too. So….. with my Porsha wig included… grand total… with coupons… I’m about 300 deep in doll wigs, which I can try and figure out after Easter (#Lent is saving my bank account 😅) 

[ *Addressing this here instead of later in the post: everyone did get new wigs!  Aside from Jordi lol.  If ANYONE needs a new Caroline wig, there's an Ebay seller selling genuine Caroline wigs for CHEAP, and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

Moving along. ] 

#6 I honestly really want a doll bike… for photo props.  Then again, when it comes to photo props, what do I not want? 😂 but seriously. A doll bike. It’s been on my wish list since I started RestlessRoseDolls. Will this be the year I get one?? Idk. But we will include it for good luck! 

Visit an AG Store!!!!! LIKE PLEASE! 

I used to love going to my state’s AG store, my parents (mostly my mom) would take me maybe two or three times a year, I would spend hours in there, I absolutely loved it. Then.  It closed 😐😐😐 yes, I am still very bitter about it. There is so much wrong with my state, they just take every good thing. So the closest one is now in LA.  I really regret not asking to go on our Cali trip two years ago… 

Final closing thoughts. I’ve seen a few dolls (I think one is just a light skinned Kaya mold) with closed lips… and I’m like obsessed with that look??? So. Once I decide which doll to use, I will most definitely be doing that. Because… at this point it’s just a necessity.  

*can you tell by the amount of emojis I’m using that I typed this entire thing on my phone? 😂😭* 

While I didn’t include her in this list because at this point, the idea of one day actually owning her is absolutely surreal to me… in my ten years (give or take) of loving AG… Mia St Clair has been, was, and always will be, my OG dream doll, she might as well be my grail doll at this point. And one day, I will find her, and she will be part of my collection. Probably not this year, or next, but one day. So mark my words.

So!  

Here is what I've *actually* accomplished, so far in 2025!

1) I have not gotten the AG Gourmet Kitchen... but I did repaint my OG Diner... and in all honesty?  I'm chillin' with that.

I did make my dream doll!  The blue eyes were not it, so she does have brown eyes, and yes, I did dye her myself!  I've dyed another doll too... it's actually SO much fun!  

So here is Miss Willow "Porsha" Milele Carver in case you haven't met her yet!  

 

 

I did buy #21... and I'm not gonna lie... I almost cried over her... the regret buyers remorse was really bad 😅 and if I had the chance, I definitely would've returned her.  But that's okay! 

I was *kinda* able to redo her pin curls (I think her not having NIB condition pin curls was the main source of my disappointment), renamed her Eden, repainted her, and... well... I love her now, just... nowhere near as much as I'd hoped to.  

She's still a bit of a disappointment... but... I paid way too much for her and can't really resell her so... fun!

She looks SO pretty here though  <333

I still don't have Jude 😭 but!  I did make Valor!!!  He was initially going to be Jude... but I'm writing a vampire novel and... to make Jude... or make Valor... ya... it was a no brainer.

Do still intend to create a Jude!  But here's Valor in the meantime 😍

 

My mom calls him "fang boy" and is genuinely afraid of him.  I adore him.  

(And for any Kpop Demon Hunters fans in the world... I may or may not have made a jinu 😇) 

Also side note: to anyone who is attempting an eye swap: DollofaKind eyes are the EASIEST eyes in the world to put in.  You barely have to add pressure.

5) AD got his eyes replaced!!!! Which!!! yay!!!

6) Still no doll bike... it's one of those things I "want" but don't think I'll ever "commit" to purchasing.  

7) I don't wanna talk about the AG store.  

Very very bitter about it.

I'm telling you.  This has been my year for manifesting.
