Hi! So technically... this is about... two months old. It's been living on my Pinterest, but maybe you've noticed, I've been redoing my Pinterest Created page *or whatever you call it* (all pictures are still on my account, just not under my Created section) because I currently hate my content layout and will seriously inconvenience myself for the sake of making something "aesthetic".
So.
I decided, I might as well just upload the pictures here. I think all my restorations will just live here (?) because besides restorations and hauls, I genuinely have no purpose for a blog. (I am open to suggestions of things you'd like to see though! I have WAY too much time on my hands, gotta love Running Start and online college, whoo!) But as far as photoshoots go, I think my Pinterest and my massive photo dumps have that covered. Btw, my brother is ADAMANT about my taking Corinne to Palm Springs (she is his favorite because she's a "total baddie" or something) so expect a photo dump of her and Joss. Unless I change my mind last minute and decide to bring Magnolia.
Speaking of Magnolia.
Let's get into it!
Compared to the way my Jess was packaged, I'm really not complaining, I just found the mummy vibes hilarious. I appreciate you for packaging her with care though! Unlike *cough cough* some people *totally harboring NO hostilities*
You can't really tell when it was dry, but there were strands in the back of her hair that dropped a few inches lower than everything else, so I just cut that off. (My a-little-too-long-lasting early middle school phase of cutting doll hair and doll wigs was actually surprisingly beneficial in the long run! Like I wouldn't want to be a hair stylist but I can kinda hold my own! Just don't ever look at Katherine from the front, I will forever hate little me for that.)
Let's take a moment to acknowledge my Strawberry Shortcake phone case. Although you really can't see it. I swear, even if you don't believe me, pink is NOT my favorite color. Promise. I like blue. Yellow and blue.
It was genuinely just... idk... I've dealt with weird substances, my Nicki doll body is still... ANYWAY. But that stuff bled, like it turned to liquid and just coated the sink *shudder*. And I was SO happy it was gone, but then the plastic dried and it revealed all this white stuff? That was transparent when the hand was wet?
I'm not gonna lie, I was already kinda planning like a repaint idea for the hand because when I bought the doll, I was seriously not expecting to get those marks off. I've gotten to the point now where when I buy dolls with weird stuff I assume they're permanent stains. So to be able to get ALL traces of the substances off? She cleaned up SO good, like flawlessly and it made me immensely happy.
I will admit, the glitter was a lot harder to dust out than I gave credit for... glitter is just... major no. There's probably still some glitter stuck in her eyes, I don't know if I actually removed removed it, or just pushed it back out of sight but as long as the camera doesn't pick it up, I don't mind. That's honestly my motto now. I don't care about stains, or scratches, or scuff marks, as long as the camera doesn't pick it up, it's fine. I genuinely don't think my dolls have resell value, like the amount of staining (which is probably a lot of my fault, little me doing repaints caused some damage)... all my dolls are TLC dolls fs.
Okay seriously... so like... I never really liked Lea. She was never on my wish list or list for dolls I would consider buying. But ohmygosh. Having her? She's now one of my favorites, she's so photogenic and I adore her SO much.
Annnnddd ya!
I think using your blog for hauls and restorations is a great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteLea is one of my favorite dolls in my collection to take pictures of. I agree, she's super photogenic. The face-up you gave Magnolia really makes her eyes pop.
Thanks! Idk what I love more about her, her name or the way she looks (lol). I have one idea for recreating album covers that I would love to post here but... set building and effort so idk if I'll ever get around to it.
